Are humans higher then the angels?

When Jesus came to earth we are plainly told that He was made a little lower than the angels as stated below:

Psalms 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Hebrews 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: (8) Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.  (9) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

If Jesus was made lower than the angels then we are as well. So we know that man in his human body are lower in the chain of command then the Angels.

In Hebrews we are told that Jesus came from the family of Abraham who was of course human only and not an angel. Hebrews 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

However there are some verses that can be open to interpretation, let's take a look at some of these:

1Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 1Corinthians 6:3 tell us (man) that we will judge the angels when we get to Heaven.  However, it does not state that we are over them, but will judge them.  If you take this verse at face value it does not claim that we are above the Angels once we are in Heaven.

During the rapture of the Church we (Those who are saved) will meet Jesus in the air.  In an instance he will change our current body into a body like his as stated in 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. and Philipians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

We know that the angels currently do not have a physical body of flesh and blood like ours, however, they can manifest into a body that looks human.

The angels are used by GOD as ministering spirits to the people on earth as stated in Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. Reading in Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?.  Here we are told that the angels are sent here to earth to minister and guide us in the path of righteousness. I believe that 1Corinthians 6:3 is directly related to this verse, that we will judge the angels on how well they ministered to us.

Also the angels are not part of the plan of salvation.  The angels are currently in Heaven in the presence of GOD and are not in need of Salvation.  The 1/3rd of the angels that rebelled against God are not anywhere mentioned in the Bible that they will get a second chance or are able to repent of their folly.

We also know that we are different then angels and will not ever become an angel. We but are the sons of God made in his image as stated in Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

I think that John summed it up in 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

We have a very small glimpse of Heaven and we do not know what our role will be in Heaven.  I think that we should not put a heavy weight on what we will be doing there but rather concerning ourselves with getting there.
