Assault on the word - Part 6

TNIV & The LORD JESUS:

Luke 6:11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

The cornerstone of the Christian faith is the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Not His teachings, not His morals, not His miracles, not His example – but HIM.

John 14:6 says: Jesus saith unto him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but BY ME.

If there's one doctrine that Christians should guard and protect it surely is the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. The FACT that Jesus Christ was God manifest in the flesh is the foundation of the Christian faith.

For years the new Bible versions have been continually chipping away at the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 3:16 is the clearest verse in the Bible proclaiming Jesus Christ as "God manifest in the flesh". In 1 Timothy 3:16, the King James Bible is unmistakable – "God was manifest in the flesh".

1 Timothy 3:16, KJB And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

In 1 Timothy 3:16, virtually every new version replaces the clear, emphatic "God" with the generic "he".

The "original" NIV reads in 1 Timothy 3:16:

Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
1 Timothy 3:16, NIV

The NIV [and the other versions] changes "God" to "he". "HE appeared in a body"? So What? Everyone has "appeared in a body". "He" is a pronoun that refers to a noun or antecedent. There is no antecedent in the context. The statement does NOT even make sense. The NIV distorts I Timothy 3:16 into grammatical nonsense. Of course, daughter TNIV reads as mommy NIV, "He appeared in a body."

I find it ironic and very disturbing, that the TNIV (and the new versions) invent ways and mis-translations to remove the "generic he" in hundreds of places to appease the feminist – and yet, they insert the "generic he" in 1 Timothy 3:16 when the reference is the clearest reference to the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ in all the Bible! That's curious. . . Who is REALLY writing these new versions?

Make no mistake about it – there is an attack on the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Much more could be documented on the attack upon the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ by the new versions.

But what about the TNIV?

On the TNIV website, they make the following, definite statement:

"Without exception, the TNIV retains gender-accurate, masculine terminology for references to God. This is a theological understanding and commitment that the Committee on Bible Translation, standing in concert with the Church throughout the ages, considers inviolable."
(TNIV: Clarity in Contemporary English, www.tniv.info/story/clarity.php)

That's pretty plain. . . "Without exception, the TNIV retains gender-accurate, masculine terminology for references to God. . ."

Let's look at a few very, very, enlightening verses in the TNIV.

Open your eyes real wide – because what you're about to read is alarming – to say the least.

The King James Bible, in Philippians 2:5-8, clearly confirms that Jesus Christ is God, ". . . thought it not robbery to be equal with God. . ." Again, the deity of our Lord Jesus is openly and clearly affirmed. And again the new versions attack the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ in Philippians 2:5-8

Philippians 2:5-8, KJV

(5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
(6) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
(7) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
(8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:5-8, NIV

(5) Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
(6) Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
(7) but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
(8) And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross!

The "original" NIV [as do all the new versions] completely re-word the verse to DENY the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And the TNIV goes even further. . .

Remember the emphatic words from the TNIV website, "Without exception, the TNIV retains gender-accurate, masculine terminology for references to God. . ."

Notice, the KJV, correctly, use the "masculine terminology"- "man" when referring the Lord Jesus Christ in Philippians 2.

The TNIV changes the "masculine terminology" of Philippians 2 while referring to the Lord Jesus. They change the masculine "man" to the neuter "human being".

Philippians 2:5-8, TNIV

(5) In your relationships with one another, have the same attitude of mind Christ Jesus had:
(6) Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
(7) rather he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
(8) And being found in appearance as a human being, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

1 Corinthians 15:21, is another "masculine" [man] reference to the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:21-22, KJB

For since by man came death, by man [Jesus] came also the resurrection of the dead
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Again, the TNIV change the "masculine" [man] to the neuter "human being".

1 Corinthians 15:21-22, TNIV

For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a human being [Jesus].
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

And they do this many times! They replace the masculine "man" with the "gender-blender" "human being". And the reference is, without question, to God – the Male, Masculine, Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Remember the emphatic words from the TNIV site, "Without exception, the TNIV retains gender-accurate, masculine terminology for references to God. . ."

I'd say that pretty well sums up the TNIV and company's beliefs about the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Either that, or they haven't got the slightest idea what they are talking about. Either way, they have no business publishing the words of God! And may I remind you, once again. . . these are the same people, same beliefs and according to their own words – the same methodology used to publish the New International Version (NIV).

The Greek text, without any doubt, affirms the KJB masculine translation.

1 Timothy 2:5 is one of the greatest verses in the Bible. It tells of our mediator between God and men - the "God-man" – the Lord Jesus Christ.

The King James correctly, contains the masculine terminology [man] of the God-inspired Greek text.

1 Timothy 2:5, KJB
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

And again, the TNIV drops the masculine [man] for the sexless, neuter "human beings" and "human".

1 Timothy 2:5, TNIV
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and human beings, Christ Jesus, himself human,

"Without exception, the TNIV retains gender-accurate, masculine terminology for references to God. . ."

Here's some other verses where the TNIV drops the "masculine terminology" when referring to God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 9:6-8, KJB (again a clear reference to the Lord Jesus)

(6) But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
(7) And he arose, and departed to his house.
(8) But when the multitude saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Matthew 9:6-8, TNIV

6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." So he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home."
7 Then the man got up and went home.
8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to human beings

John 15:13, KJB (clearly referring to the Lord Jesus and Calvary)

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:13, TNIV

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Matthew 13:57, KJB

And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Matthew 13:57, TNIV (see also Luke 4:24)

And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "Only in their own towns and in their own homes are prophets without honor."

John 6:33, KJB (a clear reference to the Lord Jesus Christ)

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John 6:33, TNIV

For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

The Androgynous (neutral) JESUS:

In Hebrews 2:17, the TNIV starts wading in some very treacherous water. Some very treacherous and very polluted water.

Hebrews 2:16-17, describes how the Lord Jesus physically came through the seed of Abraham. Verse 17 says that the Lord Jesus, was physically ". . . made like his brethren [Jews]. . ." The TNIV translators, without any Greek evidence, in any manuscript, inserts the female gender "sisters" into the verse. This is a flagrant disregard for the Greek text and adding to God’s Word. And it opens the door for some serious satanic feminist and new age teaching. Namely, that Jesus Christ was androgynous – both male and female.

Hebrews 2:16-17, KJB

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Hebrews 2:16-17, TNIV

For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.
"For this reason he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people"

". . . made like his brothers and sisters IN EVERY WAY. . ."

Notice the TNIV translators addition of "IN EVERY WAY". Why in the world did they "add" the words "in EVERY way"? What in the world do they mean "in EVERY way"?

That’s opening the door for some serious false doctrine. Serious. . . Wicked. . . Blasphemous. . . Errors.

In the popular new-age book, The Coming of the Cosmic Christ, author Matthew Fox, writes of this, "made like his brothers and sisters in every way", Christ the TNIV translators have tapped into.

"The Cosmic Christ can be both female and male, . . ."
(Matthew Fox, The Coming of the Cosmic Christ)

Feminist Rosemary Radford Ruether, in Sexism and God-Talk, also describes this "made like his brothers and sisters in every way" Christ. Ruether, says ". . .we can encounter Christ in the form of our sister". That’s almost identical to the perverted claims of the TNIV translators in Hebrews 2:17 – ". . . made like his brothers and sisters in every way. . ."

"Christ is not necessarily male, nor is the redeemed community only women, but a new humanity, female and male. . . In the language of early Christian prophetism, we can encounter Christ in the form of our sister"
(Rosemary Radford Ruether, Sexism and God-Talk)

Radical feminist and lesbian author, Virginia Ramey Mollenkott, was stylistic consultant for the "original" New International Version (NIV). Mollenkott is also a major player in the push for gender-inclusive Bibles [such as the TNIV]. In fact, Mollenkott was a team member of the very first gender inclusive scriptures ever published, An Inclusive Language Lectionary. Not surprising, Mollenkott, also promotes the "male-female" Christ [". . .made like his brothers and sisters in every way. . ."]

"the combination of Wisdom/Christ leads to a healthy blend of male and female imagery that empowers everyone and works beautifully to symbolize the One God who is neither male nor female yet both male and female".
(Mollenkott, Virginia Ramey. The Divine Feminine. P. 104).

"The creation story begins by affirming that God is neither male nor female, but both. The first chapter of Genesis emphasizes that both male and female are made in the image of the creator God."
(Virginia Ramey Mollenkott, Gender Diversity and the Christian Community, www.theotherside.org/archive/may-jun01/mollenkott.htmll)

NIV member and homosexual activist, Mollenkott, seems to have no respect for the Lord Jesus. As she even perverts the Lord Jesus Christ into an effeminate, "gender-bender", "fairy":

"Jesus, whom Paul refers to as the second Adam, also defied gender norms. He didn't marry, although he had the religious obligation to do so at eighteen. He performed acts like cooking or washing the feet of his disciples – acts culturally assigned to wives or slaves, not to a free male, . . ."
(Virginia Ramey Mollenkott, Gender Diversity and the Christian Community, www.theotherside.org/archive/may-jun01/mollenkott.htmll)

NIV consultant, Mollenkott also stated in a news conference, that Jesus Christ was "chromosomally female":

"You might be interested to know that. . . Jesus remained chromosomally female throughout life."
(Virginia Mollenkott, National Council of Churches news conference, cited in The Language of the King James Bible, Gail Riplinger, p. 114)

Researching the TNIV, I kept asking myself, "What happened to the fear of the Lord?" How can the TNIV translators (CBT), publisher (Zondervan) and copyright holder (IBS) intentionally add, delete, change and distort the words of God? How can they intentionally add words that clearly pervert the Lord Jesus Christ?

Where is the fear of God?

Where is the "trembling at his words"?

Isaiah 66:2 ". . . but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word."

Are these new version translators and publishers not aware of the serious warnings, the Lord gives on tampering, adding and taking away from His words?

Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

Proverbs 30:6 "Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."

Revelation 22:18,19 God’s last warning is in :

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I would not be the people behind these new Bible versions for all the money, wealth, fame and fortune in the whole world. They have a lot, and I mean A LOT, to answer for when they meet the Lord, whether they are saved or lost. It’s not going to be pretty.

No wonder, WorldNetDaily referred to the TNIV as "Today's New International Perversion" and a World magazine's headline called it "The NIV's Twisted Sister" (www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2002/004/10.30.htmll)

THE DAMAGE DONE. . .

Even if these Bibles never sell a single copy, the damage done to the authority and trustworthy of the words of God is insurmountable. CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, newscast after newscast, reported on the confusing changes in the TNIV Inclusive Bible. All this does is add more doubt, more confusion, more excuses for the lost world to doubt the accuracy of the words of God – ". . . yea, hath God said. . .?"

Genesis 3:1 And he [Satan] said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said,. . .?"

What’s the next step?

The ultra-liberal, pro-feminist, pro-homosexual and VERY popular, author John Spong, writes of this new inclusive Christianity. Spong says the inclusive Church, ". . . must unite Christ with Antichrist, Jesus with Judas, male with female, heterosexual with homosexual. . . "

"[The Church of tomorrow must] incorporate all of our reality. It must be able to allow God and Satan to come together in each of us. . . . It must unite Christ with Antichrist, Jesus with Judas, male with female, heterosexual with homosexual."
(John Shelby Spong, A New Christianity for a New World, p. 167)

The super-inclusive ". . . God with Satan. . . Christ with Antichrist. . . Jesus with Judas. . ." – is this the next step in the "inclusive Bibles"? Is this the New Inclusive Christianity that is emerging that as Spong describes?

Don’t be too sure. . .

Who would have dreamed 20 years ago, Bible translators and publishers would be doing what they are doing today?

Luke 6:11  And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

2 Corinthians 11:4 . . . he that cometh preacheth another Jesus,. . .

TNIV & CHRIST:

Matthew 27:22  . . . What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?. . .

Another deliberate and confusing mistranslation is the Greek word "Christos". The Greek word "Christos" is always translated (or actually transliterated) as "Christ". In fact, the Lord Jesus Christ is referred to as "Christ" by preachers, teachers, Christians and people worldwide more than either Lord or Jesus. People who follow the Lord Jesus Christ are call Christians. It is the "de facto" standard when referencing the Lord Jesus Christ and His followers.

Acts 11:26 ". . . And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. . ."

69 times the translators of the TNIV intentionally, mis-translate "christos" as "messiah".

It’s interesting that the ultra-liberal, ecumenical, Roman Catholic [which includes the Apocrypha] supported, National Council of the Churches copyrighted, feminist-approved, gender-inclusive, New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) also mis-translates "Christ" as "messiah" 66 times. " Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Zondervan also publishes the feminist-gender-inclusive, New Revised Standard Version (NRSV).

Why did the TNIV translators use "Messiah" rather than the obvious and accurate "Christ"?

In the Preface to the TNIV, the following reason is given:

"Two changes of special note in the TNIV New Testament are the frequent substitution of ‘Messiah’ for the more traditional ‘Christ’ . . . where the term is clearly used to designate the God-sent deliver of Jewish expectation (primarily in the Gospels and Acts), it was judged more appropriate to use ‘Messiah.’ However, where this sense seems less prominent (primarily the Epistles), the transliteration of the Greek word (Christ) has been retained."
(TNIV, Preface, p. vii)

First of all the statement, ". . . the more traditional ‘Christ’. . ." is misleading. It has nothing to do with "tradition". The simple fact is, the Greek word is Christos or Christ. Plain and simple. . .The correct translation (transliteration) is Christ.

Second, the TNIV translators "judged more appropriate to use Messiah" – despite the clear Greek text? This is "par for the course". The TNIV translators "judge" to throw out the Greek and replace it with whatever "wind is blowing" (see Ephesians 4:14).

The two terms; Christ and Messiah are both found in the New Testament. The word Messiah is found in only two places; John 1:41 and John 4:25 [this is true in the KJB, NIV, RSV, NCV, NASB, et al].

And why is Messiah found in John 1:41 and 4:25?

Simple. The Greek word is "messias". These are the only times the Greek word "messias" is in the New Testament.

A look at John 1:41 and John 4:25 is very enlightening. Remember, John 1:41 and John 4:25 are the only two verses in the New Testament that ACTUALLY contain the Greek word "messias".

John 1:41, KJB
He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

John 4:25, KJB
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

In BOTH cases, the Greek word "messias" [Messiah] is qualified and clarified with the Greek word "christos" [Christ]. God is clearly explaining a difference. The New Testament term is NOT Messiah – but Christ. Could the Lord have made it any plainer? The simple fact is, "Christ" is 555 times in the NT in King James Bible – because the underlying Greek word is "Christos". And for nearly 400 years all the English Bibles correctly translated the word "Christ".

It has nothing to do with "tradition" – it has to do with "thus saith the Lord".

On their web page "Clarity in contemporary English", under the subtitle "Increased Understanding: Jesus and Messiah", the TNIV translators state the following reason:

"When used as the Messianic title for Jesus, especially in Matthew, John and Acts, the translators used the title of ‘Messiah.’ In other passages, where the title does not reflect a particularly Messianic overtone, translators utilized the Greek ‘Christ.’"
(TNIV: Clarity in Contemporary English, www.tniv.info/story/clarity.php)

The title "Messiah" is a Messianic Jewish term, that is recognized primarily by the Jewish people. Most people, especially today’s Bible illiterate generation, have no idea who or what "Messiah" refers to. The TNIV translators claim the TNIV mission is, " . . . to reach today’s generation with a translation of the Bible that is undeniably accurate and clearly communicates the meaning of the original Scriptures".

They do not ". . .clearly communicates the meaning of the original Scriptures". The "original scriptures CLEARLY SAYS "Christos".

The overwhelming majority of "today’s generation" have not the slightest clue who or what Messiah means. But very few, if any, do not know who is Christ.

The translators also claim, "When used [Christos] as the Messianic title for Jesus, especially in Matthew, John and Acts, the translators used the title of ‘Messiah’".

NOT SO. . .

Of the 69 times the word "Messiah", I quickly identified at least 18 places where they misapplied a Jewish Messiah with the clearly accurate Christ.

For example:

The TNIV incorrectly translates the popular Luke 2:11

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." (Luke 2:11, TNIV)

The KJB correctly reads:

Luke 2:11, KJB "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:11, refers to the Lord Jesus Christ as the "Saviour". The "Saviour" is not a Jewish Messianic reference. Thank God – the Saviour is for all the world – not just the Jews! Nothing could possibly be clearer from the scriptures.

Notice, how the following verses vigorously present the "Saviour of the world" and "the Saviour of all men".

John 4:42, KJB:
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. (John 4:42, KJB)

1 Timothy 4:10, KJB:
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. (1 Timothy 4:10, KJB)

1 John 4:14, KJB:
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Mark 1:1 contains another misapplied "Messiah":

Mark 1:1, in the TNIV reads:

"The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah," (Mark 1:1, TNIV)

The KJB, correctly reads:

Mark 1:1 KJB: The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

Notice, the intent of Mark 1:1 – "the beginning of the GOSPEL. . ." The GOSPEL of Jesus Christ is NOT a "Messianic title". How far off the truth can you get? The gospel of Jesus Christ is for the whole world! Notice also, the TNIV takes a quick swipe at the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ by removing the "the Son of God".

Thank God – the TNIV is wrong – the gospel is for EVERY creature – not just the Jews.

Mark 16:15, KJB
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to EVERY creature. [not the Jewish, Messianic, etc.]

Ephesians 3:6, distinctively declares the "gospel of Christ" is for the Gentiles, not a Jewish Messianic application.

Ephesians 3:6, KJB
That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

The gospel, a Jewish Messianic Kingdom term – NEVER – God Forbid!

The gospel of Jesus Christ is for "whosoever will". John 3:16, called the gospel in a nutshell, begins with "For God so loved the WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

With such a blatant disregard for major Bible doctrine – I ask, have the TNIV crew ever REALLY read the Bible? And I say that not in jest. Seriously. . . Do they just sit around "twiddling and piddling over the Greek and Hebrew" and never simply pick up a King James Bible and read it?

They SERIOUSLY need to heed the words of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 24:15:

Matthew 24:15  ". . .whoso readeth, let him understand:"

But perhaps Matthew 16:16 [also in Mark 8:29, Luke 9:20] contains the most haphazardly mis-translation of "Messiah":

The KJB in Matthew 16:13-18:

(13) When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men [notice the inclusive plural MEN – not Jews] say that I the Son of man am?
(14) And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
(15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
(16) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
(17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
(18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The TNIV Matthew 16:16 reads:

(13) When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"
(14) They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
(15) "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
(16) Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
(17) Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
(18) And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of death will not overcome it.

The context and content of Matthew 16:13-18 is crystal clear. Look at verse 18. The reference is NOT the Jewish Messianic Kingdom but "the church". With such gross errors, how in the world can anyone take the "sloppy, clumsy" translation work of the TNIV serious?

Notice also, the glaring mistranslation in verse 18, "the gates of hell. . ." is now the "the gates of death", matching the liberal RSV, NCV translations. The "church" is not battling [hence ‘not prevail’] the "gates of death", but the "gates of hell". Ridiculous. . .

May I remind you. . . This is the same group and the same methodology, that translated the NIV and USA-banned, NIV Inclusive version?

Direct from the TNIV web site:

"The fully independent body that translated the highly acclaimed NIV is the same eminent group that undertook the work on the TNIV. . .
The widely respected translation methodology that drove the scholarship of the NIV was maintained in the development of the TNIV. . ."
(Faithfully Produced by CBT, www.tniv.info/story/cbt.php)

And according to the TNIV translators themselves – the TNIV is MORE ACCURATE than the NIV.

"The NIV is an extremely accurate Bible text, the best the CBT could produce as of 1984. The TNIV is an even slightly more accurate Bible text, the best the CBT could produce as of 2001."
(TNIV FAQS, www.tniv.info/QandA.php)

A FRIGHTENING CONCLUSION. . .

The false and deliberate removal of "Christ" leaves the fingerprints of the antichrist, as forewarned in 1 John 2:22:

1 John 2:22, KJB:
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the CHRIST? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

How does the TNIV translators respond to this warning – simple. They change the verse!

That’s right. . .They change the verse and wipe off their fingerprints and cover up the incriminating evidence. . . I guess the antichrist is a reference to the Jewish Messianic Kingdom.

1 John 2:22, TNIV:
Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Messiah. Such a person is the antichrist — denying the Father and the Son.

A FEMALE ANTICHRIST?

Notice also in 1 John 2;22, the TNIV-NIV group replace the masculine pronoun, "he" with the neuter "person" in reference to the antichrist. The Greek text is specifically and only masculine singular [outos] or "he". A female antichrist. . . Hmm. . . Now, that really ought to really make Hillary, NOW, GLAD, Barbra Streisand, Virginia Mollenkott, and the militant feminists jump for joy. . .

The TNIV replaces Christ with Messiah 69 times in the following verses:

Matthew: (16 times)
1:1, 1:16, 1:17, 2:4, 11:2, 16:16, 16:20, 22:42, 23:10, 24:5, 24:23, 24:24, 26:63, 26:68, 27:17, 27:22

Mark: (8 times)

TNIV & With CHILD

Isaiah 49:1 . . . The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

For the last 25 years the baby-killing, pro-abortion, feminists, have spewed forth their crusade of propaganda and lies. Since Roe v. Wade (1973) over 40 million innocent, babies have been murdered. It's interesting 1973, happens to be the date the "original" New International Version New Testament [NIV] was published. . . hmm . . . (Matthew 7:20 by their fruits ye shall know them.)

40 million babies. . . That's more than 25 times the number of every soldier killed in all the wars in America's history.

40 million babies. . . That's more babies than the COMBINED population of Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware, Montana, Rhode Island, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Maine, Idaho, Nebraska, West Virginia, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Iowa, Connecticut, and Oregon!

That's more innocent little babies murdered than the COMBINED total of 23 states!

How did America ever justify the killing of over 40 million babies? How did America close her eyes to such a slaughter? Simple. . . By removing those words "with child". When the Supreme Court ruled in the infamous Roe v. Wade case, they ruled the woman was no longer "with child". It's no longer "with child" – it's a "fetus", "embryo", or simply "pregnant".

Abortion in the Church: The Untold Story

A shocking article appeared in Moody Magazine (March/ April 2002) titled, "Abortion in the Church: The Untold Story". The article stated that while abortion is decreasing in the secular world – abortion is growing in the Christian world. According to Moody Magazine, at least 18% of all aborted babies are from Christian women. Incredible. Over 234,000 little babies each year, are murdered by women that profess to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour! (www.moodymagazine.com/articles.php?action=view_article&id=549)

And the TNIV changes all the verses with the unmistakable "with child" to the lenient, obscure "pregnant". Their reasoning – the "with child" is archaic! Yes sir. The phrase "with child" is archaic to the baby-killing, pro-abortionist, feminists.

Can Christians really be this messed up? Can they actual believe that "with child" is archaic? Are the TNIV translators, and publishers so seduced and bewitched by the pro-abortion, radical, feminists that they REALLY believe "with child" is archaic and unacceptable in the word of God? Isn’t removing those clear God breathed words, "with child" just throwing more fuel on the fire for those confused "Christian" women that consider murdering their little babies?

God help us. . .

Here's what the TNIV website says:

"Changes that clarify the meaning of language for today's reader. For example, Mary is said to be "pregnant" rather than the archaic "with child," thus reflecting language more commonly used today."

Here's the verses removing "with child":

Matthew 1:18, KJB
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost

Matthew 1:18, TNIV
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit

Matthew 24:19, KJB
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

Matthew 24:19, TNIV
How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!

Mark 13:17, KJB
But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

Mark 13:17, TNIV
How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!

Luke 21:23, KJB
But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Luke 21:23, TNIV
How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.

1 Thessalonians 5:3, KJB
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

1 Thessalonians 5:3, TNIV
While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Revelation 12:1, KJB
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (2) And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

Revelation 12:1-2, TNIV
1 A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

1 John 2:22 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

TNIV & MASCULINE PRONOUNS

Matthew 19:4 . . . Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

By far the most extensive damage performed by the inclusive-perversions is the extermination of the "generic" masculine pronouns, such as "he / him / his".

Known as the "generic he", generic masculine pronouns are the standard method used in the English language when addressing an "indefinite" or "undefined" individual. Masculine pronouns, such as "he / him / his" are utilized to address both male and female when the gender is unknown. The "generic he" has been the accepted method literally, since the beginning of the English language.

The Preface to the TNIV states:

"While a basic core of the English language remains relatively stable, many diverse and complex cultural forces [as in the feminists ‘cultural force’?] continue to bring about the subtle [see Gen 3:1] shifts in the meanings and/or connotations of even old, well-established words and phrases. Among the more programmatic changes in the TNIV is the removal of nearly all vocative ‘O’’s and the elimination of most instances of the generic use of masculine nouns and pronouns."
(TNIV, Preface, p. vii, emphasis and bracketed comments added)

Boy. . . the NIV translators weren’t just kidding when they declared ". . .the elimination of most instances of the generic use of masculine nouns and pronouns." With the exception of referring to specific male individuals, virtually every masculine pronoun is removed from the TNIV!

  • The TNIV zaps ‘he’ over 1090 times – over 35% of ‘he’ is deleted.

  • The TNIV zaps ‘him’ over 1600 times – a whopping 66% of ‘him’ is deleted.

  • The TNIV zaps ‘his’ over 290 times – over 20% of ‘his’ is deleted.

The NIV translators justify their zapping of over 3000 masculine pronouns by claiming "diverse" and "complex cultural forces" are "bringing about the subtle shifts in the meanings and/or connotations of even, old, well-established words and phrases". The NIV translators also state in the Preface, "the so-called singular ‘they/their/them,’ which has been gaining acceptance among careful writers and which actually has a venerable place in English idiom, has been employed to fill in the vocabulary gap in generic nouns and pronouns referring to human beings. . ."

Reading the Preface to the TNIV, one would think no respectable journalist would dare use the "generic he". After all, the Preface states, the "careful writers" are using the "so-called singular ‘they/their/them’".

Well, aren’t they. . .? Hum. . . . .

The acclaimed Strunk and White’s, The Elements of Style, is by far the most recommended and respected concise handbook for writers in existence. Amazon.com lists many accolades and praises for Strunk and White’s The Elements of Style:

"No book in shorter space, with fewer words, will help any writer more than this persistent little volume." — The Boston Globe

". . . Should be the daily companion of anyone who writes for a living, and for that matter, anyone who writes at all." — Greensboro (N.C.) Daily News

"This excellent book, which should go off to college with every freshman, is recognized as the best book of its kind we have." — St. Paul Dispatch – Pioneer Press

How does Strunk and White advise concerning that mean, sexist, "generic he"?

"Do not use they when the antecedent is a distributive expression such as each, each one, everybody, every one, many a man. Use the singular pronoun [he, his, him]."
(William Strunk, Jr., and E.B. White, The Elements of Style, Fourth Edition, 2000, p. 60)

Strunk and White then lists the following "correct and incorrect" examples:

[incorrect] Every one of us knows they are fallible.
[correct] Every one of us knows he is fallible.
[incorrect] Everyone in the community, whether they are a member of the Association or not, is invited to attend.
[correct] Everyone in the community, whether he is a member of the Association or not, is invited to attend.

"The use of he as a pronoun for nouns embracing both genders is a simple, practical convention rooted in the beginnings of the English language."
(William Strunk, Jr., and E.B. White, The Elements of Style, Fourth Edition, 2000, p. 60)

It should be mentioned, this is from the 2000 edition of Strunk and White’s, The Elements of Style. An edition clearly aware of the feminist agenda to eliminate the use of the "generic he", and over 8 years [1992] after the start of the gender-inclusive NIV.

Strunk and White also states concerning the ‘generic he’:

"It [the generic he] has no pejorative [derogatory, or belittling effect, negative, sexist] connotations; it is never incorrect."
(William Strunk, Jr., and E.B. White, The Elements of Style, Revised Edition, 1979, p. 60)

The highly esteemed Associated Press Stylebook and Libel Manual, boasts of over 1.6 million copies sold. In fact, the AP Stylebook is the number one selling and most widely used journalism reference book in the world.

How does the AP Stylebook instruct the journalists on the "generic he"?

"Use the pronoun his when an indefinite antecedent may be male or female: [Example] A reporter attempts to protect his sources."
(Norm Goldstein, The Associated Press Stylebook and Libel Manual, 2000 edition, p. 114)

Probably, the two most respected and utilized journalists reference books in the world, approve and even recommend the "generic he". And yet, according to their own words, the NIV translators goal is "the elimination of most instances of the generic use of masculine nouns and pronouns."

Nearly every Dictionary in existence, both old and new, will list the "generic he" as a valid definition for "he":

Webster’s 1828 Dictionary

he, pronoun of the third person;
1. A pronoun, a substitute for the third person, masculine gender, representing the man or male person named before.
2. It often has reference to a person that is named in the subsequent part of the sentence. He is the man.
3. He is often used without reference to any particular person, and may be referred to any person indefinitely that answers the description.
4. He, when a substitute for man in its general sense, expressing mankind, is of common gender, representing, like its antecedent, the whole human race.

The Grosset Webster Dictionary of 1966:

he pronoun 1. The male person mentioned previously. 2. Anyone.
(The Grosset Webster Dictionary, 1966, p. 281)

The current Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary:

he 1 : that male one who is neither speaker nor hearer
2used in a generic sense or when the sex of the person is unspecified <one should do the best he can>
(Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary)

Every dictionary I found, listed the "generic he" as a valid definition. The following dictionaries all defined a "generic he":

  • American Heritage Dictionary, Third Edition, 1994
  • American Heritage Dictionary, Fourth Edition, 2000
  • Oxford American Dictionary, 1986
  • New Oxford American Dictionary, 2001
  • New Pocket Oxford Dictionary, Ninth Edition, 2001
  • Webster’s New World Students Dictionary, 1996
  • Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition, 2001

The following "real life" examples illustrate the "generic he" masculine pronoun in action:

"To graduate to the second stage, the novice must pass a road test and have no moving violations or at-fault accidents. If he does, he remains at the first stage while he takes a driver-education refresher course."
(Reader’s Digest, Dec., 1999, p. 129)

"Even a moderate phone user should be able to save 25 percent of his monthly bill by shopping around."
(Reader’s Digest, Feb., 1999, p. 135)

"Nobody comes off a trans-Atlantic flight looking better than when he got on it"
(Chicago Tribune, Aug. 22, 1999, Sec. 8, p. 3)

Many of our most treasured speeches and documents use the "generic he".

Martin Luther King’s famous "I Had A Dream Speech":

One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. . .
There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. . . .
One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land . . .
We can never be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. . .

The US Constitution utilizes the "generic he" throughout:

For instance, Article 1, section 2, which lists the requirements of the House of Representatives:

"No person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the age of twenty five years, and been seven years a citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state in which he shall be chosen."

For instance, Article 1, section 3, which lists the requirements of a Senator:

No person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the age of thirty years, and been nine years a citizen of the United States and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state for which he shall be chosen.

Did the "generic he" in the U.S. Constitution keep Hillary Clinton, the feminist "poster child", from running for Senator? Did Hillary read the "generic he" and say, "Well, I guess I can not run for Senate". Of course, not. In fact over 70 women are currently serving in Congress.

So, why are the NIV translators (CBT), publisher (Zondervan) and copyright holder (International Bible Society) so determined to eliminate the generic masculine pronouns?

Surely, the reason must be the Greek text demands the extermination of the English generic masculine pronouns.

I’m sure as we examine the underlying Greek text, we’ll clearly see why the NIV translators are bound and determined to root out every "jot or tittle" of the "generic he".

What saith the Greek?

Matthew 10:24 is a good place to start:

The KJB reads in Matthew 10:24
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

The TNIV reads in Matthew 10:24
"Students are not above their teacher, nor servants above their master.

Does the Greek text match the singular masculine KJB or the plural neuter TNIV?

Without ANY doubt, without ANY debate – WHATSOEVER. . .

The Greek is SINGULAR and is MASCULINE. . .

Here’s briefly the Greek evidence. . .

is estin {singular IS}
disciple maqhthV {singular A DISCIPLE}
servant douloV {singular A SERVANT}
his autou {HIS LORD}

The TNIV incorrectly and intentionally MIS-translate the following:

  • Subject - from singular ‘disciple’ to plural ‘students’

  • Verb – singular ‘is’ to plural ‘are’

  • Subject – from singular ‘servant’ to plural ‘servants’

  • Pronoun – from singular, masculine ‘his’ to neuter, plural ‘their’

Why? The Greek CLEARLY is singular and masculine. Going completely defiant to the "God-breathed" Greek text found in ANY and EVERY manuscript in the world, the NIV translators change the subjects, the verbs, the pronouns for ONE reason – and ONE reason ONLY – to remove the masculine pronoun. And they do this hundreds and hundreds of times!

Now, may I ask – who would be so upset about the generic masculine pronoun? What single "cultural forces" (as the TNIV Preface ‘reasoning’ admits) would desire a MIS-translation to remove the "generic he"? Only One and One and Only – the radical, extremist, militant, feminist! And clearly that is ‘cultural force’ the TNIV team (and the other gender-inclusive MIS-translations) pleases by removing the generic masculine references. The greatest books in print on English journalism approves and recommends the generic masculine pronoun. God, who inspired and wrote the Greek text, clearly desires the generic masculine pronouns. And yet, the NIV translators ignore the Greek text and distort hundreds and hundreds of verses – because of ‘cultural forces’!

According to Word Magazine, the "gender inclusive" New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) changed over 3,400 verses just to remove the generic use of "he-him-his". (Comparing the two NIV, Wayne Grudem, World Magazine, April 19, 1997)

Remember where we previously read in the TNIV Preface about "the so-called singular ‘they/their/them,’ which has been gaining acceptance among careful writers and which actually has a venerable place in English idiom, has been employed to fill in the vocabulary gap in generic nouns and pronouns referring to human beings. . ."

The ". . . so-called SINGULAR ‘they/their/them. . ."?

What first grade elementary student doesn’t know "they/their/them" are third person PLURAL pronouns? You can "call" them "so-called SINGULAR" till the cows come home but they are still PLURAL pronouns. They are PLURAL pronouns today. . . And they will be PLURAL pronouns tomorrow – despite the feminist "cultural force". The TNIV’s claim of, ". . . gaining acceptance among careful writers and which actually has a venerable place in English idiom. . ." is just another way of saying – because the radical, extremist, militant, feminists despise the generic masculine pronouns, and they have "yelled so loud and so long" some spineless writers, academia, media and Bible translators have cowered down and perverted the PLURAL third person pronouns [they, their, them] into SINGULAR neuter pronouns to please the militant feminists.

I have a good question for the TNIV translators and their "so-called SINGULAR ‘they/their/them"?

If they are indeed, "so-called SINGULAR ‘they/their/them" – then why do you change the SUBJECTS and VERBS to PLURAL? Hum. . . .

The ". . . so-called SINGULAR ‘they/their/them. . ."?

You’ve got to be kidding. . .

Do you trust the words of God with the TNIV translators?

May I remind you. . . this is the same group, the same mindset, the same beliefs and the same methodology that translated the "original" New International Version (NIV)?

Here it is from the "horses mouth" (a.k.a. from the TNIV web site):

"The fully independent body that translated the highly acclaimed NIV is the same eminent group that undertook the work on the TNIV. . .
The widely respected translation methodology that drove the scholarship of the NIV was maintained in the development of the TNIV. . ."
(Faithfully Produced by CBT, www.tniv.info/story/cbt.php)

May I also remind you. . . This is also the same group, the same mindset, the same beliefs, the same methodology, the same philosophy, the same agenda, that MIS-translated the British-bound New International Version Inclusive (NIVI) that was so corrupted with the extreme, radical, feminist agenda it was banned from sale in the USA!

The "Joke of the Century" is on the TNIV web site:

"Revisions were checked for accuracy against the original languages and reviewed one by one for faithfulness, communication and style. Only when a revision in English matched the accuracy of the original languages did it make its way into the TNIV."
(Faithfully Produced by CBT, www.tniv.info/story/cbt.php)

"ONLY when a revision in English matched the accuracy of the original languages did it make its way into the TNIV."

Yeah. . . Right. . . And the moon is made of blue cheese.

But then again, the following statement on the International Bible Society’s (IBS) web site might win the "Joke of the Century" award. The IBS own the copyright (and are a major financial supporter) of the NIV, NIVI and the TNIV. Commenting on the TNIV, the IBS state on their website:

"We believe that earnest Christians want total accuracy in translation, with no bowing to a feminist agenda, no compromise with the biblical text. That is precisely what IBS [a.k.a. TNIV] has been and is totally committed to as well."
(NIV FAQ, www.gospelcom.net/ibs/niv/niv_faq.php)

Yes. Christians certainly do want ". . .total accuracy in translation, with no bowing to a feminist agenda, no compromise with the biblical text." And that's EXACTLY the reason to avoid the TNIV and these new versions like a "rabid pit bull with AIDS".

The TNIV translators dig a bigger hole of deceit with the following absurd quote:

"The TNIV is in fact 'gender-accurate.' Gender neutrality suggests the removal of specific male or female attributes. The TNIV does not remove these attributes or "neuter" any passages of Scripture."
(TNIV: Questions and Answers, www.tniv.info/QandA.php)

It is NOT "gender-accurate". We have seen many times, and we’ll see many more, where the TNIV, completely ignores the clear, masculine Greek text and neuters the verse. Not once. Not twice, but hundreds and hundreds of times.

Unbelievable. . .

Most translators (even the worst) at least attempt to correctly TRANSLATE the Greek text. But the FACT is, the TNIV (and other gender inclusive versions) invent ways to INCORRECTLY TRANSLATE the Greek text to remove the "God Breathed" generic masculine pronouns! And that’s a FACT – JACK. That’s the TRUTH – RUTH! And that’s for REAL – BILL!

Knowing the disrespect and intentionally, mis-translation of the "God breathed" Greek text, the following statement written on the TNIV website, is truly a very alarming and eye-opening statement:

"The NIV is an extremely accurate Bible text, the best the CBT could produce as of 1984. The TNIV is an even slightly more accurate Bible text, the best the CBT could produce as of 2001."
(TNIV FAQS, www.tniv.info/QandA.php)

Well. . . well . . . well. . . That ought to wake some people up. . .

If the TNIV is more accurate (with hundreds and hundreds of PROVEN deliberate mis-translations) than the "original" NIV – what does this say ‘loud and clear’ about the NIV? It says EXACTLY what we and others have documented for years – the "original" New International Version (NIV) is a distorted, faulty, mis-translation.

That’s just a few of the many sources documenting the inaccuracies in the "original" New International Version (NIV).

The TNIV damage of eliminating the "generic he".

Besides not being true to the Greek text. . . Besides intentionally mis-translating "thus saith the Lord" – there is an inherent danger of removing the singular masculine pronoun – you confuse the reader’s focus from an ‘individual’ to a ‘group’.

By replacing the direct, singular third person pronoun [he, his, him] with the indirect, plural third person pronoun [they, them, those] or with the indirect, second person neuter pronoun [you, your] the individual responsibility and focus of the reader is blurred. That essential relationship and communication between the individual and God is missing.

Author William Zinsser, in the best-selling, On Writing Well, warns of the effects of converting the singular "he" with the plural "they":

"A style that converts every ‘he’ into a ‘they’ will quickly turn to mush. . . I don’t like plurals; they weaken writing because they are less specific from the singular, less easy to visualize."
(William Zinsser, On Writing Well, p. 123)

Strunk and Whites’, highly respected, The Elements of Style, also cautions against replacing the singular "he" with the plural "they":

"Alternatively, put all controversial nouns in the plural and avoid the choice of sex altogether, you may find your prose sounding general and diffuse [not concentrated, indirect]"
(Strunk and Whitle, Elements of Style, p. 61)

The clear "he" becomes a muddled, hazy "they".

Compare John 10:9 in the King James Bible (KJB) with Today’s New International Version (TNIV), notice how the individual audience is lost with the plural they:

John 10:9, KJB
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 10:9, TNIV
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

John 10:9, in the TNIV, is no longer addressing the individual person [any man, he], but now a group [whoever, they]. God’s message of salvation is to the individual, not a group, not a church – but a single, individual, person. And the simple effects of these hundreds of perverse, mis-translations to appease the radical feminists could be devastating.

As that old song affirms:

Not my mother, not my father,
but it's me O Lord standin' in the need of prayer.
Not the deacon, not the elder,
but it's me, O Lord, standin' in the need of prayer.
Not my sister, not my brother,
but it's me, O Lord, standin' in the need of prayer.

Salvation is an individual accountability. You’d better believe Satan would love to confuse the individual’s attention and accountability. By replacing the direct, singular pronoun with the indirect, plural is a very effective method to obscure the individual’s accountability.

The following is some verses where the "generic" masculine pronoun is eliminated. And in every case, the Greek text is singular, masculine and correct in the King James Bible. And in every case, the TNIV intentionally, mis-translates the Greek text.

As you read through the verses, notice the amount of rewording, changes, etc. the TNIV invent for the sole purpose to remove any masculine reference. Most of the time they will convert the verse to use plural pronouns [they / them / their]. Some times the TNIV translators will transform the verse from third person singular [he / him / his] to the second person neuter [you / your]. Other times they may change the voice from active to passive and simply remove the pronouns in the process – but somehow, someway – that mean, nasty, sexist masculine pronoun has got to go. Notice, also how hazy and murky the distorted verses can become. In fact, some are down right silly.

Dr. Wayne Grudem, professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and president of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (www.cbmw.org) warns of the consequence in removing the masculine pronouns:

". . .the generic use of "he-him-his" has consistently been changed to "we" or "you" or "they." The result is that whenever readers of this inclusive-language NIV read the words "we" and "you" and "they," they will never know whether what they are reading is what God originally caused his Word to say, or what the translators have decided his Word should say instead. In hundreds and probably thousands of places, readers will never know whether these are the words of God or the words of man.

Such revisions are not the words God originally caused to be written, and thus they are not the words of God. They are human words that men have substituted for the words of God, and they have no place in the Bible."
(Wayne Grudem, Comparing the two NIVs, World Magazine. Apr. 19, 1997)

This is a small sample of the hundreds of verses that are clearly mis-translated:

Matthew 10:38, KJB
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Matthew 10:38, TNIV
Those who do not take up their cross and follow me are not worthy of me.

Matthew 12:30, KJB
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Matthew 12:30, TNIV
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

Mark 8:36-37, KJB
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Mark 8:36-37, TNIV
What good is it for you to gain the whole world, yet forfeit your soul?
Or what can you give in exchange for your soul?

Luke 9:23, KJB

Jeremiah 23:36 . . for ye have perverted the words of the living God,

TNIV & MAN

Ezekiel 22:30  And I sought for a man among them, . . . but I found none.

Since the 60's the radical feminists have been screaming and whining that sexist, male chauvinist word 'man' has just got to go. Today, we no longer have a postman, but a letter carrier; the policeman is now a police officer; the businessman is a businessperson; a fireman is a firefighter; our garbage man is a garbage collector, chairman is a chairperson, on and on. We've just got to divorce that mean ol' sexist 'man'. He has got to go. It's gotten so bad, some have suggested renaming the city of Manchester into Personchester.

For over 500 years, the words 'man’ and ‘mankind’ were terms that neatly referenced the whole family - mom, dad, son, daughter, boy, girl, baby – it was simple. And it was effective. But today, thanks to the whining militant feminists, 'man' is quickly becoming an endangered species.

And the TNIV-NIV-NIVI translators are certainly helping the cause. . .

The TNIV web site describes their "man-removal" operation:

"Where the NIV previously used 'he,' 'man,' or 'men' to indicate all people, the TNIV, in many cases, renders these passages as 'person,' 'people' or other terminology that reflects the meaning of the original language."
(TNIV: Clarity in Contemporary English, www.tniv.info/story/clarity.php)

When the TNIV translators say, "in many cases" they aren't kidding! The TNIV exorcises that mean, ol' nasty, 'man' over 550 times [compared to the King James Bible] . Over 44% of the 'man' have been booted out of the TNIV. And 'mankind' – he just doesn't exist.

And guess what? The "original" NIV removes ‘man’ over 690 times!

What do they do with ‘Mr. man'?

Mr. man is traded for the neuter "one, you, everyone, anyone, people, person, self, etc." Or sometimes the TNIV just swallows up mean ol' man in the sentence structure. But someway, somehow, some word, any word, any way. . . just find a way – that 'man' has got to go.

Many times the end result of eliminating Mr. Man is down right hilarious. . . Some times it’s pure idiotic. . . And other times it’s just simply dumb. . . and dumber

The Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 4:19 (and also Mark 1:17) calls out Simon Peter and his brother Andrew with the famous "fishers of men" soulwinners call:.

The KJB reads in Matthew 4:19

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

But in the silly, feminist, TNIV the Lord Jesus is not calling out "fishers of men" but to "catch people". The charming soulwinner’s "fishers of men" is now perverted into a disgusting, slave-traders "catch people". Just to rid ‘men’ from the verse.

The TNIV distorts Matthew 4:19 (see also Mark 1:17):

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to catch people."

Now, where is the Rev. Jesse Jackson when we could really use him?

NOTE: The TNIV and NIV are infatuated with slavery. The barbaric, racist and insensitive word "slave" is 58 times in the TNIV and over 100 times in the original NIV.

Here’s a few more laughs . . . uh. . . I mean verses. .

2 Corinthians 4:16, KJB:
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16, TNIV:
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

NOTE: 2 Corinthians 4:16 is a description of the battle between the two natures. The new spiritual (inward man) and the old flesh (outward man). The TNIV makes the verse sound like some kind of bizarre human combustion "outwardly we are wasting away". Weird. . . The things they’ll do to get rid of "Mr. Man". Where in the world did they dig up such a goofy reading? From the "original" NIV . . . It reads the same.

1 Corinthians 3:17, KJB:
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

1 Corinthians 3:17, TNIV:
If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

NOTE: The word ‘together’ has no basis in the Greek text. The verse is clearly referring to an ‘individual’ [any man], the TNIV changes the verse from an individual to a group, church, commune – ‘you together’. The TNIV teaches a false doctrine. The "original" NIV also removes ‘man’ from 1 Corinthians 3:17.

1 Corinthians 15:45, KJB:
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:45, TNIV:
So it is written: "The first Adam became a living being"; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

NOTE: ‘man’ in reference to Adam is removed, despite the Greek word ‘anthropos’ is in the text. Also soul is changed to being.

This kind of absurd, babble is performed by the TNIV-NIV translators hundreds of times.

Besides the re-wording of man being pure silly, bizarre and completely unnecessary – in many cases, it is a deliberate, intentional, mis-translation.

There are six words in the Greek text translated ‘man’; oudeis, teleios, arren (or arsen), tis, anthropos, and aner.

While the Greek words oudeis, teleios, arren (or arsen), tis, and possibly anthropos can carry ‘neuter’ meanings, the Greek word ‘aner’ can not. It is strictly male, masculine, ‘macho-macho’, man. It has no other alternative.

Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words says of ‘aner’:

"aner is never used of the female sex; it stands in distinction from a woman,"
(Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, 1985, p. 389)

The comprehensive Bauer-Arndt-Gingrich-Danker Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature defines ‘aner’ as:

"man: In contrast to woman. . . "
(Bauer-Arndt-Gingrich-Danker, Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, p 66)

The Liddell-Scott Greek-English Lexicon, says of ‘aner’:

"Man, opposed to woman."
(Liddell-Scott Greek-English Lexicon, p. 138)

Dr. Wayne Grudem, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, writes concerning the Liddell-Scott definition for ‘aner’:

"The standard reference work, the Liddell-Scott Lexicon for all of ancient Greek, gives no meaning "person," but only "man, husband," and some specific variations on those. This is very significant because aner is not a rare word: it is extremely common in Greek. Thousands upon thousands of examples of it are found in Greek from the 8th century BC (Homer) onward. If any meaning "person" existed, scholars would have found many clear examples centuries ago."
(Dr. Wayne Grudem, "Can Greek aner ("man") sometimes mean "person"? No",)

Now with that kind of hard-evidence (. . .like that really matters to the TNIV-NIV-NIVI crew) what ‘magic-disappearing-act’ will the TNIV perform on the man-only ‘aner’?

They magically transform the "masculine ever-only" aner into "people, believers, friends, terrorists, them, who, those, mature, our, someone, et al" and many times they just completely ignore ‘aner’. Over 54 times they change or drop ‘aner’ from the text. The ‘original’ NIV also changes or removes ‘aner’ 29 times.

Some examples where ‘aner’ is mistranslated:

Acts 20:30, KJB:
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Acts 20:30, TNIV:
Even from your own number some will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

NOTE: The context of Acts 20:30 are the "elders of the church" at Ephesus. Verse 17 reads, "And from Miletus he [Paul] sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church" The TNIV distorts aner to the neuter ‘some’ implying women were among the elders of the church. Now, that ought to make the radical, feminists, and Hillary shout for joy.

Matthew 12:41, KJB:
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Matthew 12:41, TNIV:
The people of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here.

Acts 19:35, KJB:
And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

Acts 19:35, TNIV:
The city clerk quieted the crowd and said: "People of Ephesus, doesn’t all the world know that the city of Ephesus is the guardian of the temple of the great Artemis and of her image, which fell from heaven?

Acts 21:38, KJB:
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?

Acts 21:38, TNIV:
"Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolt and led four thousand terrorists out into the desert some time ago?"

NOTE: How in the world they get ‘terrorists’ from aner beats me. Sounds like something Osama Bin Laden would dream up. P.S. This little ‘beauty; is also in the ‘original’ NIV.

Acts 23:21, KJB
But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

Acts 23:21, TNIV
Don’t give in to them, because more than forty of them are waiting in ambush for him. They have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They are ready now, waiting for your consent to their request."

NOTE: Why didn’t they just translate it "forty men" as the Greek text [aner] reads? Do the feminists really want to be included in this bloodthirsty mob? Oh yea, this ‘cutie’ is also in the ‘original’ NIV . . . Like mother. . . like daughter. . .?

Acts 25:24, KJB
And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.

Acts 25:24, TNIV:
Festus said: "King Agrippa, and all who are present with us, you see this man! The whole Jewish community has petitioned me about him in Jerusalem and here in Caesarea, shouting that he ought not to live any longer.

NOTE: The ‘men’ present in Acts 25:24 are defined as ". . . the chief captains, and principal men of the city. . ." in verse 23. Oh did I fail to mention. . . this little ‘babe’ is also in mamma ‘original’ NIV.

Romans 4:8, KJB
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Romans 4:8, TNIV
Blessed are those whose sin the Lord will never count against them."

NOTE: In order for the TNIV mis-translators to ‘neuter’ Romans 4:8, they must intentionally and incorrectly distort the subject and verb to plural. I don’t guess it matters to the TNIV group that Romans 4:8 is a quote of Psalm 32:2 referring to the MAN David, "Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, . . . "

Ephesians 4:13, KJB
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Ephesians 4:13, TNIV
until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

NOTE: I’m scratching my head on this one. . . Somehow the TNIV mis-translation from a ‘perfect man’ to ‘become mature’ lacks a little something – like the truth. ‘Become mature’ and ‘a perfect man’ is about as far apart as you can get. Guess what? Mamma (‘original’ NIV) ‘birthed’ this baby also.

In the following five verses in James; 1:8, 1:12, 1:20, 1:23, 3:2, the TNIV translators change the complete sentence structure from singular to plural, from masculine to neuter and ignore the singular-masculine Greek [aner-man-only] text. Why? Just to get rid of ‘man’. In every case the ‘masculine-only’ Greek word, ‘aner’ is intentionally mis-translated.

James 1:8, KJB
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

James 1:8, TNIV
they are double-minded and unstable in all they do.

James 1:12, KJB
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

James 1:12, TNIV
Blessed are those who persevere under trial, because when they have stood the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

James 1:20, KJB
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

James 1:20, TNIV
because our anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

James 1:23, KJB
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

James 1:23, TNIV
Those who listen to the word but do not do what it says are like people who look at their faces in a mirror

James 3:2, KJB
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

James 3:2, TNIV
We all stumble in many ways. Those who are never at fault in what they say are perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

THE HUMAN FACTOR. . .

One of the favorite "buzz words" among the new agers, feminists, and atheists, is ‘human’. The ‘human’ mantra comes in many chants; Humanist, secular humanism, human consciousness, human dimensions, human rights, human cloning, humanitarianism, The Human Potential Movement (HPM), the Humanist Manifesto, and of course, the feminist mantra – "Not female, Not male – Human".

‘Humanism’ is a religion that eliminates God and deifies man. "Man is god" is the heart-beat of humanism.

Webster's New International Dictionary defines "humanism" as:

"Contemporary cult or belief calling itself religious but substitutes faith in man for faith in God."
(cited in Cathy Burns, Masonic and Occult Symbols Illustrated, p. 93)

The Father of Humanism is found in Genesis 3:5. When Satan, slithering in the garden of Eden, whispered the infamous "ye shall be as gods" – humanism officially began. The same deadly venom the serpent [Satan] injected into the heart of Eve, is the same poison running through the veins of humanism.

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Genesis 3:5

The Humanistic Manifesto II, openly proclaims:

"No deity will save us; we must save ourselves."
http://www.americanhumanist.org/about/manifesto2.htmll

Humanist Corliss Lamont irreverently writes:

"Humanism assigns to man nothing less than the task of being his own Saviour and Redeemer."
(Corliss Lamont, The Philosophy of Humanism, p. 283)

Humanism is the same hell-bound cry of Satanism. Church of Satan founder, Anton Lavey, states in the Satanic Bible:

"Say unto thine own heart, ‘I am mine own redeemer’".
(The Satanic Bible, Anton Lavey, p.33)

Satan’s plan is simple. Dethrone God. And making man god, is a clever battle plan. The "ye shall be as gods" lie has destroyed more lives, shed more tears, and filled the pits of hell more than any other lie. It’s the translation methodology of the TNIV, and the new perversions. "I don’t care what God says, I am man, and I-man will make God say what I-man wants God to say". It’s the same serpent-inspired, "yea, hath God said" of Genesis 3:1.

As the neuter word ‘human’ is a favorite among the new agers, feminists and atheists – it is also the "darling" among the new versions.

The TNIV translators exchange ‘man’ with the generic, new age approved and feminist inspired ‘human’ – over 120 times. The mechanical "human beings" occurs 30 times. And that’s just the New Testament. Oh by the way, the "original" NIV contains 'human' 52 times.

Let’s look at some ‘human’ verses. . .

Matthew 15:8-9, KJB
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Matthew 15:8-9, TNIV
‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’"

John 1:13, KJB
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1;13, TNIV
children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

John 2:25, KJB
And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

John 2:25, TNIV
He did not need human testimony about them, for he knew what was in them.

John 5:41, KJB
I receive not honour from men.

John 5:41, TNIV
"I do not accept glory from human beings,

John 12:43, KJB
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

John 12:43, TNIV
for they loved human glory more than the glory of God.

Acts 5:29, KJB
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Acts 5:29, TNIV
Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than human beings!

Romans 1:23, KJB
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Romans 1:23, TNIV
and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal human beings and birds and animals and reptiles.

Romans 3:4, KJB
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar;. . .

Romans 3:4, TNIV
Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar.. . .

Romans 3:5, KJB
But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

Romans 3:5, TNIV
But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)

1 Corinthians 3:3, KJB
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

1 Corinthians 3:3, TNIV
You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere human beings?

1 Corinthians 7:23, KJB
Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

1 Corinthians 7:23, TNIV
You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings.

NOTE: The TNIV and NIV are infatuated with slavery. The barbaric, racist and insensitive word "slave" is 58 times in the TNIV and over 100 times in the original NIV. I thought the TNIV-NIV was inclusive and up-to-date – with slaves?

Ephesians 2:15, KJB
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Ephesians 2:15, TNIV
by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,

Colossians 2:8, KJB
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Colossians 2:8, TNIV
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

Colossians 3:23, KJB
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Colossians 3:23, TNIV
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,

Hebrews 2:6-7, KJB
But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

Hebrews 2:6-7 TNIV
But there is a place where someone has testified: "What are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor

James 3:9, KJB
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

James 3:9, TNIV
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.

2 Peter 1:21, KJB
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 1:21, TNIV
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Notice how bland, and impersonal the generic mechanical, "human" and "human being" sounds.

Now really. . . Does such a dead, impersonal language really encourage anyone to read the Bible? And these are the folks that ridicule the King James Bible as being "out of touch" and unable to speak in the common language.

The TNIV web site makes ridiculous statements like, ". . . reach today's generation with language they can understand and relate to. . . . that clearly and accurately communicates in today's language. "(TNIV: Questions and Answers, www.tniv.info/QandA.php)

When the TNIV says "in today’s language" – one has to ask — have the TNIV group ever had a conversation with any "common people"? The TNIV reads like an IRS Tax booklet.

Who ‘in today’s language’ says "human being" – rather than "man". Who in ‘everyday language’ would say, "Look at that human being" versus, "Look at that man".

The Bible says in Mark 12:37, ". . .And the common people heard him [Jesus Christ] gladly." Of course, the TNIV doesn’t have any "common people" – it totally destroys the emphasize of the verse with, "The large crowd listened to him with delight."

THE TNIV’S PORTRAYAL OF SATAN. . .

In Matthew 16:23, the Lord Jesus Christ, warns of Satan’s humanist "ye shall be as gods" trickery. But the TNIV incredibly re-word the verse and describes Satan as "concerned about humans".

Matthew 16:23, KJB
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Matthew 16:23, TNIV
Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns."

Human concerns? Is the devil REALLY "concerned" about us humans? The TNIV makes Satan sound like a good guy – after all, he’s "concerned" with us "humans".

The TNIV’s portrayal of Satan comes way too close to the same satanic portrait found in new-age Theosophy. H.P. Blavatsky says Satan is human’s "real creator and benefactor" and "the ever loving messenger", "our redeemer. . . or liberator and our Saviour".

"Satan, the Serpent of Genesis is the real creator and benefactor, the Father of Spiritual mankind. For it is he . . . who opened the eyes of the automaton (Adam) created by Jehovah. . . he still remains in Esoteric Truth the ever loving messenger . . ."
(H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Vol 3, p. 246)

"And now it stands proven that Satan, or the Red Fiery Dragon, the ‘Lord of Phosphorus’ and Lucifer, or ‘Light Bearer’, is in us; . . . our tempter and Redeemer, our intelligent liberator and Saviour. . ."
(HP Blavatasky, The Secret Doctrine)

Before we leave the ‘human’ factor found in the TNIV and other gender inclusive perversions, a look at some of the other new "gender inclusive" PER versions and the book of Ezekiel is worth a laugh.

The New Century Version (NCV) has God addressing Ezekiel not with the familiar ‘son of man’, but God addresses Ezekiel with the robotic, stern "human". Look at this foolish, nonsense. This is a riot.

Here’s a sampling from Ezekiel chapters 2 and 3. . .

Ezekiel chapter 2,3:, NCV

2:1 He said to me, "Human, stand up on your feet so I may speak with you."
2:3 He said, "Human, I am sending you to the people of Israel. . ."
2:6 You, human, don't be afraid of the people or their words. . .
2:8 But you, human, listen to what I say to you. . .
3:1 Then the LORD said to me, "Human, eat what you find; eat this scroll. . .
3:3 He said to me, "Human, eat this scroll which I am giving you, . .
3:4 Then he said to me, "Human, go to the people of Israel, . . .
3:10 Also, he said to me, "Human, believe all the words I will speak to you, . .
3:17 "Human, I now make you a watchman for Israel. . .
3:25 As for you, human, the people will tie you up with ropes . . .

In the book of Ezekiel, The NCV has God addressing Ezekiel as 'human' – 96 laughable times!

The International Children's Bible (ICB) has God addressing Ezekiel as 'human being'.

Ezekiel 3:1,3, ICB

3:1 Then the Lord said to me, "Human being, eat what you find. . .
3:3 Then the Lord said unto me, "Human being, eat this scroll. . .

The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) is not much better with it's 'mortal' for 'son of man'.

Ezekiel 3:1,3, NRSV

3:1 He said to me, O mortal, eat what is offered to you; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.
3 He said to me, Mortal, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it. Then I ate it; and in my mouth it was as sweet as honey.

The gender-inclusive NRSV contains the neuter, impersonal 'human' 322 times, God's Word 176 times, NCV 249 times, New Living Bible 206 times, the International Children's Bible 163 times.

All this silly nonsense – just to get rid of the sexist 'man'.

What’s so ironic. . . These are the same people that attack the King James Bible as being out of date and too hard to understand.

Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for A MAN among them, that should make up the hedge,  and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

TNIV & Homosexuality

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, the word of God delivers a very serious warning against certain sins. Among these sins is sodomy, or homosexuality. The TNIV obscures the seriousness of the judgement on "homosexuals" by confusing the sin of "homosexuals" by adding the word "practicing". It’s no longer "homosexuals" but "practicing homosexuals".

1 Corinthians 6:8-10, TNIV
8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters.
9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor practicing homosexuals
10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Practicing homosexuals?

Where did the TNIV translators ever come up with such a biased, unwarranted, pro-homosexual wording? Why didn’t they say "practicing" adulterers, "practicing" thieves, or "practicing" drunkards, or "practicing" slanders? Hmm. . . Why just "practicing homosexuals"?

The TNIV translators pull the same trick in 1 Timothy 1:10

1 Timothy 1:9-10, TNIV
9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers. And it is for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine

Why not "practicing" murders, or "practicing" liars, or "practicing" slave traders?

The fact is – every time "practicing" shows up in the TNIV it ONLY applies to "homosexuals". And the fact is – every time "homosexual" shows up in the TNIV it is blurred with "practicing". There is no basis in the Greek text for adding the word "practicing".

Why do the homosexuals get special treatment? Hmm. . .

What's the difference between a "homosexual" and a "practicing homosexual"? Are the TNIV translators implying it's ok to be a homosexual, just not a "practicing homosexual"? Are the TNIV translators saying that it's ok for homosexuals to engage in a "monogamous" homosexual relationship? Just as long as they don’t "practice"? Are the TNIV translators implying that God created homosexuals?

What are the TNIV really trying to say?

Boy. . . oh boy. . .You talk about opening a confusing "can of worms". . .

HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE ORIGINAL "NIV":

The NIV-TNIV translators and the sin of sodomy or homosexuality have an on-going sympathetic relationship.

The "original" NIV is also very kind to homosexuals. 1 Corinthians 6:9, in the "original" NIV is translated "homosexual offenders". Not just "homosexuals" but "homosexual OFFENDERS". And again, the obvious implication is "homosexuality" is fine. It’s just "homosexual OFFENDERS" that’s the problem.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10, in the "original" NIV:

Surely you know that the people who do wrong will not inherit God's kingdom. Do not be fooled. Those who sin sexually, worship idols, take part in adultery, those who are male prostitutes, or homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

The pro-homosexual, website, Religious Tolerance, heartily agrees with the NIV’s "homosexual friendly" translation of 1 Corinthians 6:9

"The NIV contains the phrase: "homosexual offenders." Suppose for the moment that Paul had written "heterosexual offenders" or "heterosexual sexual offenders." We would not interpret this today as a general condemnation of heterosexuality; only of those heterosexuals who commit sexual offences. Perhaps the appropriate interpretation of this verse is that it does not condemn homosexuals. Rather it condemns homosexuals who engage in sexual offences."

The NIV’s "homosexual offenders" has lead many to refer to the NIV as the "homosexual version". The "USA forbidden" New International Version Inclusive Language (NIVI) also translates 1 Corinthians 6:9 as "homosexual offenders".

Of all the mainstream translations, the NIV, NIVI and the TNIV are, FAR AND AWAY, the most friendly with homosexuals.

Here’s how 1 Corinthians 6:9 reads in some of the other major versions:

  • New American Standard Version (NASV) "homosexuals"
  • Revised Standard Versions (RSV) "sexual perverts"
  • King James Bibles (KJB) "abusers of themselves with mankind"
  • New Century Version (NCV) "men who have sexual relations with other men"
  • New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) "sodomites"
  • New King James Version (NKJV) "sodomites"
  • The Living Bible (TLB) "homosexuals"

As you can see, homosexuals are much more acceptable in the NIV, NIVI and TNIV.

THE NIV’S DIRTY LITTLE SECRET. . .

It’s a dirty little secret, that radical feminist and lesbian author Virginia Mollenkott was a stylistic consultant for the "original" NIV translation team. Mollenkott, a very outspoken, lesbian and feminist, is the author of at least 11 highly controversial books such as Is The Homosexual My Neighbor, Omnigender: A Trans-Religious Approach, and Divine Feminine.

After being exposed for having an open, militant, homosexual on the NIV translation staff, the NIV crew has vigorously attempted to deny the influence and sexual perversion of Mollenkott. They’ve claimed Mollenkott’s lesbianism was not known when Palmer asked her to participate on the NIV translation process. But Dr. Donald Waite, who taught with her at Shelton College in Ringwood, New Jersey, says he knew she was a lesbian as early as 1962-63 –many years before (1978) the NIV was published. Dr. Waite, also has a letter, from Bob Jones, Jr. (Bob Jones University), addressing Mollenkott’s attraction to "young girls", as far back as the 1950’s. The BJU letter states, "We had a definite problem with her because she insisted on hobnobbing with a few girls when she was employed as a teacher here for one year in the fifties."

And in Episcopal, Witness (June 1991, pp. 20-23), Mollenkott readily confessed, "My lesbianism has ALWAYS been a part of me. . ." Mollenkott, says in the pro-homosexual Evangelicals Concerned's Spring 1997 Record, "I came of age [lesbianism] in the 1940s and 1950s, discovering my own sexuality at a time when only negative information was available to me...I was one of the many gay teenagers. . ."

If the NIV staff did not know Mollenkott was a lesbian, it was simply because they did not want to know. It was a Clinton, "don’t ask, don’t tell" cover-up.

What about Mollenkott’s influence on the NIV?

In an interview with Joseph Chambers, Virginia Mollenkott, explained her role in the NIV translation process:

"I worked mainly in solitude. . . they would send me big swatches of translations. . . and `my job' was to read them with an eye as to how this would communicate with the modern reader, and to indicate if I thought there were any infelicities [inappropriate, or awkward] in language that could be corrected... So, I would write notes all over manuscripts which I was sent, both praising phraseology that I thought was wonderful and raising questions or asking-for instance something I would typically write would be, `Would the Greek or would the Hebrew permit this word' which would seem to me to be much more understandable or clear to a modern reader?..."

Now, what do you suppose Virginia Mollenkott wrote if she received 1 Corinthians 6:9, or 1 Timothy 1:10? Possibly "homosexual OFFENDERS" rather than a general condemnation of "homosexuals"? Not surprising, the NIV completely removes the word "sodomy".

Romans 1:26-28  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. (28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

TNIV & The Missing Fathers

Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

One of the major problems facing America today is fatherless families. Today, fathers are an endangered species. It’s gotten so bad, President Bush and Congress have proposed "buy back the fathers" programs offering cash incentives just to encourage fathers to marry.

The father’s role in a family can not be overemphasized.

Look at the following alarming statistics:

  • 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes. [U. S. D.H.H.S. Bureau of the Census]
  • 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.
  • 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes. [Center for Disease Control]
  • 80% of rapist motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes. [Criminal Justice and Behavior, Vol. 14 p. 403-26]
  • 72% percent of adolescent murders come from fatherless homes. [William J. Bennett, The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, p. 61]
  • 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes. [National Principals Association Report on the State of High Schools]
  • 70% of juveniles in state operated institutions come from fatherless homes [U.S. Dept. of Justice, Special Report, Sept., 1988]
  • 70 percent of long-term prison inmates come from fatherless homes. [William J. Bennett, The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, p. 61]
  • 85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home. [Fulton County Georgia Jail Populations and Texas Dept. of Corrections, 1992]
  • Nearly 2 of every 5 children in America do not live with their fathers. [US News and World Report, February 27, 1995, p.39]
  • 4.6 times more likely to commit suicide
  • 6.6 times to become teenaged mothers (if they are girls, of course)
  • 24.3 times more likely to run away
  • 15.3 times more likely to have behavioral disorders
  • 6.3 times more likely to be in a state-operated institutions
  • 10.8 times more likely to commit rape
  • 6.6 times more likely to drop out of school
  • 15.3 times more likely to end up in prison while a teenager

A Heritage Foundation study found that growing up without a father is now the single most reliable predictor of crime.

Louis Sullivan, former secretary of Health and Family Services, said, "Male absence from family life is the greatest challenge of our generation."

Despite the overwhelming evidence testifying to the desperate need for fathers in our society, the radical feminists and lesbians have lobbied long and hard to diminish the role of fathers.

Free Congress Foundation director Michael Schwarz truthfully writes about feminism:

"Feminists take the position that fathers are largely irrelevant in terms of child rearing,"

The National Organization for Women (N.O.W) leaves no doubt to what the feminist think of fathers. A December 3, 1999 N.O.W., Action Alert included this statement, "It’s a father’s presence, not his absence, that is harmful to kids."

If you really want to see a feminist "blow a gasket", just mention the word "patriarchy". Patriarchy basically means the father is the head of the home.

Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary defines "patriarchy" as:

pa•tri•arch•y 1 : social organization marked by the supremacy of the father in the clan or family, the legal dependence of wives and children, and the reckoning of descent and inheritance in the male line;
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary

One group of radical feminists calls themselves, Feminists Earning A Reputation United States [FEAR US]. According to their website, "Fear Us is a secret, underground organization whose sole mission is the elimination of patriarchy. . ." (www.fearus.org)

Radical feminist and lesbian author, Virginia Ramey Mollenkott, was stylistic consultant for the "original" New International Version (NIV). Mollenkott is author of at least 11 radical feminist pro-homosexual books, including the highly controversial "Is the Homosexual My Neighbor" and "The Divine Feminine". Mollenkott, leaves little doubt, to the feminist position on "fathers" or "patriarchy".

"Patriarchy is a profoundly mistaken social system that has caused misery to millions and could yet cause the destruction of humankind and the planet we share together."
(Virginia Mollenkott, Sensual Spirituality: Out From Fundamentalism, p. 73)

Got to get rid of those "fathers". . .

After all, they’re causing ". . .the destruction of humankind and the planet we share together. . ."

Well, Virginia, you will be glad to know, your NIV-NIVI-TNIV companions are certainly doing their part to get rid of "fathers".

The TNIV removes "fathers" at least 55 times, and "father" over 100 times!

If you doubt for one minute, the NIV and company are not following the feminist footsteps, the following statement is from the Preface of the New International Version Inclusive Edition [NIVI]: This is unbelievable. . .

". . . it was recognized, that it was often appropriate to mute the patriarchalism of the culture of the biblical writers through gender-inclusive language when this could be done without compromising the message of the Spirit."
(Preface, New International Versions Inclusive Edition, p. vii)

The NIVI translators are the same people, same methodology used in the NIV, TNIV, and NIVI. In fact, it was the translators original goal to completely replace the "original" NIV with the Inclusive NIVI.

What do they swap the "fathers" for?

  • "Fathers" is swapped 38 times for the generic non-masculine ancestors

  • "Fathers" is swapped 2 times with the generic non-masculine parents/parent

  • "Fathers" is swapped 1 times with the generic non-masculine people

  • "Fathers" is swapped 4 times with patriarchs

  • "Unto the fathers" is dropped in Acts 3:22

Are the TNIV translators and publishers going to pull that "in today’s language. . .reaching today’s generation" propaganda? Is the word "fathers" outdated? Hmm. . . .? And "ancestors" is "today’s language"? Hmm. . .? Clearly, it has NOTHING to do with reaching this generation with today’s language.

I don’t guess it matters to the TNIV translators that the Greek word "pater" is the direct descendent to our English word "father". The etymology of "father" is Middle English fader, Old English f[ae]der; to Old German fater father, Latin pater, Greek patEr.

In fact, the Latin word for "father" is the Greek "pater".

Hebrews 12:5-9, is an example of a gross mistranslation of the Greek word "pater" or "father".

Hebrews 12:5-10, KJB

(5) And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
(6) For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
(7) If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
(8) But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
(9) Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
(10) For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Hebrews 12:5-10, TNIV

5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as children? It says, "My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his child."
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their parents?
8 If you are not disciplined —and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate children at all.
9 Moreover, we have all had human parents who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live!
10 Our parents disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness

Note the change from "son" to "children" and "father" to "parents". In order to pull off this pro-feminist mis-translation madness the singular Greek word "huios" [son] must magically become plural [children]. And the singular Greek word "pater" [father] must also magically become plural neuter [parents]. Again, (as we’ve documented many times) we’re witnessing a deliberate, intentional, defiant, mis-translation of the God-breathed Greek text.

The purpose of Hebrews 12:5-10 is to illustrate the chastisement of God the Father. By the TNIV distorting the comparison example of "fathers of our flesh which corrected us", there is clearly a subtle (see Genesis 3:1) murkiness to the parallel of God the Father.

TNIV & Sisters

Ezekiel 16:51 thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.

The NIV (and nearly all the other versions) replaced the gender-inclusive "brethren" with the male-only "brothers". The gender-inclusive, TNIV just couldn’t allow that male-only "brothers". That wouldn’t please N.O.W. [National Organization for Women] or Virginia Mollenkott.

What could they do? The NIV and sisters, replaced the gender-inclusive "brethren" with the male-chauvinist "brothers" – so how could they get out of this pickle?

Simple. . . The TNIV mis-translators reached back into that "magic no Greek text translation hat" and pulled out another rabbit – a female rabbit named "sisters".

So with over 110 "magic translation" tricks, the TNIV reads "brothers and sisters" – where there aren't no "sister’. And there aren't no Greek manuscript in the universe to justify the addition of the word "sisters".

Some "magic" examples:

Notice, the first three verses are MIS quotes of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 25:40, KJB
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 25:40, TNIV
"The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Luke 14:12, KJB
Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee.

Luke 14:12, TNIV
Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.

Luke 21:16, KJB
And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Luke 21:16, TNIV
You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.

Acts 1:16, KJB
Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

Acts 1:16, TNIV
and said, "Brothers and sisters, long ago the Holy Spirit spoke through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus, and that Scripture had to be fulfilled.

Acts 2:29, KJB
Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Acts 2:29, TNIV
"Brothers and sisters, we all know that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day.

Romans 8:29, KJB
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:29, TNIV
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

1 Corinthians 7:29, KJB
But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

1 Corinthians 7:29, TNIV
What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have a husband or wife should live as if they did not;

In 1 Corinthians 7:29, the TNIV has to also add "husband" after adding "sisters". It reminds me of the old adage; telling one lie leads to another lie to cover up the first lie. One deliberate mis-translation leads to another mis-translation to cover up the error of the first mis translation.

WOMEN PREACHERS AND CHURCH LEADERS. . .

The TNIV distorts the scriptures to "magically" appear women preachers and church leaders. The radical feminists, and lesbians have wished for this "twisted sister" version for many years. Well, ladies [oops. . . excuse me. . . humans] Merry Christmas – the TNIV elves have granted your wish.

In Acts 6:3, the TNIV includes "sisters", among the church leaders, in the choosing of Stephen. I’m sure Senator Hillary and the feminists love this one.

Acts 6:3, KJB
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Acts 6:3, TNIV
Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them.

In 1 Corinthians 1:26, the TNIV adds "sisters" to the preachers calling.

1 Corinthians 1:26, KJB
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

1 Corinthians 1:26, TNIV
Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

In Corinthians 14:26-27, the TNIV includes "sisters" in the speaking of tongues, preaching [doctrine], revelations, etc. Notice, also in verse 27, to further add to their deceitful mess, they change "any man" to "anyone".

1 Corinthians 14:26-27, KJB
(26) How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
(27) If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

1 Corinthians 14:26-27, TNIV
26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.
27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.

The same type of false-doctrine, mis-translation and adding to the Greek text is found in 1 Corinthians 14:39. Man is neutered, and sisters are added. Completely defiant to the masculine, singular Greek text.

1 Corinthians 14:37-39, KJB
(37) If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
(38) But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
(39) Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

1 Corinthians 14:37-39, TNIV
37 If any think they are prophets or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command.
38 Those who ignore this will themselves be ignored.
39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

The context and subject matter of Philippians 1:14-18, is preachers. And the TNIV add "sisters" to include women preachers. Again, this is clearly adding to the Greek text and promoting a false doctrine.

Philippians 1:14-18, KJB
(14) And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
(15) Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
(16) The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
(17) But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
(18) What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Philippians 1:14-18, TNIV
14 And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.
15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.
16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.
17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.
18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-14, is referring to pastors / preachers. Verse 12 says, "are OVER YOU in the Lord, and admonish you. . ." Verse 14 are clearly the instructions to a pastor, "warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men" .Again, the "gender-inclusive" TNIV includes "sisters", promoting women preachers. Notice, the "among you" which includes the "sisters".

1 Thessalonians 5:12-14, KJB
(12) And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
(13) And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
(14) Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-14, TNIV
12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.
13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

1 Peter 4:10-11, is clearly instructions for the preacher ". . .let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister,. . ." The TNIV, again (and again and again) changes the third person, singular masculine [him] to second, person neuter [you].

1 Peter 4:10-11, KJB
(10) As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
(11) If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:10-11, TNIV
10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
11 If you speak, you should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If you serve, you should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

2 Timothy 3:17, is incorrectly changed from "man of God" to "all God’s people". The Greek text is singular, masculine. Verse 4:1 "preach the word" is also instructions to the "man of God" found in verse 3:17.

2 Timothy 3:16-4:2, KJB
(16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(17) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
(4:1) I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
(2) Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2 Timothy 3:16-4:2, TNIV
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that all God’s people may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
4:1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge:
2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

Romans 13:3-7, again, changes the Greek, singular, masculine to plural, neuter.

Romans 13:3-7, KJB
(3) For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
(4) For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
(5) Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
(6) For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
(7) Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Romans 13:3-7, TNIV
3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.
4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing.
7 Give to everyone what you owe: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Galatians 3:5 is completely re-worded to remove the singular, masculine references to the minister.

Galatians 3:5, KJB
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Galatians 3:5, TNIV
Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by your observing the law, or by your believing what you heard?

In Acts 20, Paul is addressing the "elders" and "overseers. . . of the flock" at the church in Ephesus.

Verse 17 Paul calls for "the elders of the church".
Verse 28, Paul refers to them as "Holy Ghost hath made you overseers [of the flock], to feed the church of God "
Verse 30, Paul warns among "your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them".

Without a doubt, the audience Paul is addressing at Ephesus are the elders, overseers, pastors and preachers. And verse 30 reads, "Also of your own selves shall MEN arise. . ."

Acts 20:17, 27-30, KJB:
(17) And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
(27) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
(28) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
(29) For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
(30) Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

It’s very important to note, that the Greek word for "men" [verse 30] is the "man-only" Greek word "aner". The Greek word "aner" is NEVER used in a generic "male-female" audience. The TNIV purposely mis-translates the Greek word "aner" as "some" to include women elders and overseers. For more info on the Greek word "aner" see our section on "man".

Acts 20:17, 27-30, TNIV
17 From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church.
27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.
28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.
29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
30 Even from your own number some will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

The TNIV’s corrupt handling of Acts 20, is beyond any bounds of honest interpretation or translation. It is deliberately distorting the God-breathed Greek text to promote and teach a false doctrine, in this case, women pastors and elders.

The following is several other verses that change the Greek text to misleadingly encourage women preachers

2 Corinthians 11:4, KJB
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

2 Corinthians 11:4, TNIV
For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

Galatians 1:9, KJB
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:9, TNIV
As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let that person be under God’s curse!

Genesis 12:19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister?. . .

TNIV & More Blunders

2 Corinthians 2:17  For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God. . .

SONS OF GOD GONE. . .

Don’t look for any "sons of God" in the TNIV – sorry, they’ve all been "neutered".

The Lord no longer has any sons – they're all just "neutered" children.

HOW ABOUT THOSE "RATIONALS BEINGS"?

The TNIV translators and publishers claim their motive for the TNIV is to provide a translation in "today’s most contemporary, accepted English" and in language to reach today’s generation. It’s funny, that every new Bible that comes out says that?

How about Romans 12:1 and "today’s most contemporary, accepted English"?

Here's the supposedly archaic, hard to understand King James.

Romans 12:1, KJB
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And here’s the latest-greatest, easier to understand, in today’s language, blah. . . blah. . . blah TNIV:

Romans 12:1, TNIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your proper worship as rational beings.

Does anybody "in today’s language" talk like "rational beings"? Sounds like somebody’s been watching too much Star Trek. . .

Now seriously. . . do you really believe God would want His Word to read like a trekkie?

I HEARD ABOUT A MANSION. . .

The third verse of that great song "Victory in Jesus" says:

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea.
About the angels singing and the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.

Well. . . Don’t look for any mansion in the TNIV and NIV – it isn't there. . .

The Lord Jesus Christ describes my mansion in John 14:2

John 14:2, KJB:
In my Father's house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Notice, in John 14:2, the Lord Jesus says ". . .if it were NOT so, I would have told you. . ."

Well, according to the majority of the new versions – it’s NOT so. . .

The new PER versions have been hacking at God’s mansions for years. They’ve turned God’s beautiful mansions into a "dwelling place", "home" and a "room". Sounds like the Lord is running a "boarding house".

  • Revised Standard Version [RSV] "many rooms"
  • New American Standard Version [NRSV] "many dwelling places"
  • New International Version [NIV] "many rooms"
  • New Century Version [NCV] "many rooms"
  • New Revised Standard Version [NRSV] "many dwelling places"
  • The Living Bible [TLB] "many homes"
  • New Living Bible [NLB] "many rooms "
  • The Good News Bible in Today's English Version "many rooms "
  • God’s Word Translation "many rooms"
  • New American Bible [NAB] "many dwelling places"

If that wasn’t bad enough (and believe me it is. . .) the "in today’s language" TNIV doesn’t even give you a "room" – just "plenty of room". Got to share a room, I guess. . .

John 14:2, TNIV
My Father’s house has plenty of room; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

"Plenty of room"? Doesn’t sound too exciting, does it? Pretty big step down from a "mansion" to "plenty of room". Doesn’t exactly get you packing your bags to move in. . .Kind of hard to connect the TNIV’s "plenty of room" to 1 Corinthians 2:9, ". . . Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

From a "mansion" to a "dwelling place" to a "room" and now to the TNIV’s "plenty of room" – I guess the next version will read "My Father’s house has a closet. . ."

No Thank you. . . I think I’ll stick with my "mansion" – it sounds more like the God I know.

Notice something else very curious about the TNIV’s treatment of John 14:2. . . Something very odd. . .

John 14:2, TNIV
My Father’s house has plenty of room; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

Notice that "?" – "question mark" at the end of the TNIV’s John 14:2.

The TNIV translators change the sentence from declarative to interrogative. The Lord Jesus Christ is no longer issuing a statement of "fact" and "truth" – the TNIV has Him asking a question. . .

Does that remind you of any other verse in the Bible?

How about Genesis 3:1?

Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Ah so. . .The master of the "question mark" – Satan. "yea, hath God said . . .?

The serpent’s little subtle, question mark in Genesis 3:1 triggered the fall of mankind. Just that little element of doubt. . . .

The first "question mark" in the Bible is from the mouth of Satan [serpent]. And it "questioned" the words of God. Hmm. . .

Who do you think "lead" the TNIV translators to "question" John 14:2?

That’s some spooky stuff. . .

I’m glad Eugene Bartlett wasn’t reading the TNIV when he wrote "Victory in Jesus":

"I heard about plenty of room He has maybe built for me in glory?"

May I remind you again. According to their own words. This is the same people, the same methodology that translated the NIV.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. . .
