How to handle life's issues, Gods way

There are three areas in our life whereby God gives us the help we need to live a successful Christian life. First of all, Jesus died in our place to give us new life, our Heavenly Father has given us the Holy Spirit, and then He has given us his word. God has given us all we need for life and Godliness and to grow in His image according to 2Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

So when true believers are living in this new life in Christ, they are empowered to love God and one another.  They are empowered to serve God and one another. They are empowered to trust God, to love Him, to obey Him and to deal with the problems with life. There will be problems because the Christian life is a battle ground between the flesh and the spirit.

We have Satan, the arch enemy of our souls who wants to rob us of all of the fruits of the spirit and everything else that God wants us to enjoy and know in Him. Satan wants rob us of life and life eternal.

So what we have here is the word of God, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the fellowship of the saints. What God has given to you in your walk with Christ is sufficient in all that you will need in this life.

We need to take into consideration the things that God has already done for us. We need to just stop and take stock of how God has already used us for his glory and for His purpose.  You don't have to go to any classes or read all of the books on the subject of "Christian Counseling" in order to find your way in life. If you read all of these books you would come away more confused then you were before you started to read them.

The Bible is the word and authority given to us directly from God, and does not have any of man's ideas and opinions mixed in. You want to bring your problem to Jesus and to look at the problem from this perspective.  You are to look to Jesus as we read in Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

When we focus on Jesus rather then focusing on the problem, something happens to the problem, it is not that it goes away, and it may never be solved. There are some things that are on going and things we have to live with and God is using them in our lives. But the problem diminishes in it impact in your life.  More over problems can be used by the Lord.

In Jesus Christ problems equal an opportunity to draw close to the Lord, to know Jesus better and to grow spiritually in Him. Sometimes God allow problem to come into our lives in order to get our attention. But other times it has nothing to do with that, but God has allowed something to come into our life to permit us to grow close to Him, It's an opportunity to get to know him better. There may be doors that need to be eliminated at other times.

We need to pray and to read his word in order to get to know Him better, and then to grow spiritually in Him through the problems.

As you wait on the Lord then the Holy Spirit will bring forth what is needed in your life as the Lord leads us.  We must be sure that we listen to what God is saying, and it must be spirit led, it cannot be done in the flesh.

Each person has a responsibility for his or her own walk with the Lord. Remember that God is at work in your life.  We need to depend on God's enabling, as we participate in His work.  So often a person looks to another person to solve their problem to some way fix their issue rather then to the Lord.  God is working in your life and we must depend upon Him for our answers to the problems at hand. We need to be confident that he will hear and answer our prayers.  If we start to fish around for other answers and start doing it according to the flesh we are going to find out that it's not going to work out.

We must be willing to walk the walk that God has shown us in His Holy Scriptures look to Jesus as our example. If things are not working out in your life we know that it is not God that is holding back the process, but is the individual who is not following the will of the Father. Are we praying thy will be done?

As we face our problems and issues we must remember that God is the potter as stated in Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. We need to cooperate with Him.

Jesus says in Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. There is no psychological counselor or system that can give you this.  Jesus wants to bear your burdens for you, remember that you have the indwelling Holy Spirit within you and Jesus has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us at any time; we need to think on these things.

If we are truly born again, then we are a new creature in Christ, we are not the old man. We need to realize that as a child of God, there is no need to deal with life's problems as those who do not have this new life in Christ.

The answer is in spending time in the Word of God. This is where we want to be, reading in Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  The Word of God alone is sufficient to handle any problems or issues that cross our path, He can bring strength and comfort as well as the truth.

God uses trials to mold and sanctify us and to conform us to the image of Christ.  Sometimes all we want to do is to escape the problem, to get past it and on move unto better times.  But God may be using our problems and our suffering for his glory and for our spiritual growth.  1Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

We need to exercise the peace of God in our lives.  Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (2) By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (3) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; (4) And patience, experience; and experience, hope: (5) And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

We need to walk in the Spirit, rather then according to the flesh Romans 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: (7) Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. And Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. (10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: We are complete in Him nothing else even comes close to that.

Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; (19) And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. This should reflect in our life. We need to allow Christ the right of way in our life, even if it seems contrary to what we think is best for us at that time.

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
We need to deny our own fleshly impulses and to search God's word for the answers to life's problems. We must not look within our self for the answer, but we must put down the flesh life and seek answers from God above.

Paul mentions in Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Christ died for you; He will take of you and supply all of your needs according to his will.

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; (23) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; (24) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

2Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
