Christian Rock and Roll Continued
The "Christian" Rock Project 86 is a hard core rock and roll band. There is nothing Christian about this band. The band is now for the most part, are playing in the secular bands area. Here is proof from the mouth of the lead singer Andrew Schwad.
"I think right now with Project, we're going a lot more of a secular route. We're not doing anything differently - we just think were going to be doing more secular shows. There's a big debate about preaching at secular shows...we've always been subtle but forceful at the same time...for us to go out there and play with bands. We're not going to go in there and say 'hey were the Christian band' ...were going to carry ourselves like a normal band. Hopefully people will like our music and investigate into the band...and they will learn our beliefs. If you don't do it that way, I just think you should only play Christian shows...because a lot of the times, club owners won't even let you in. It's very ineffective to just preach from stage." http://www.decapolis.com/musicreviews/interviews/project86.shtmll.
By their own words they are not doing anything different. If you were to hear this band play and not know that they were a "Christian" band you would be none the wiser. If you were to read their lyrics you would still not know that they were supposed to be a band for Jesus Christ.
In fact their is no mention of Jesus Christ in any of their songs on any of their albums.
How can you convert the lost if the lost have no idea that you are any different then all of the other groups who are sharing the stage with Project 86?
How can you tell someone about Jesus if you never mention his name?
How can you save the lost if you never show them the way of salvation?
How can you reach people if you don't preach the word of God? We are told that we are to preach the Word.
If we are to be Christ like then we should do the things that Jesus did here on earth.
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Act 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
Preaching is what gets people saved. Not singing with secular bands with lyrics that don't mention the name of Jesus in any of their words or in anyway glorify God.
The interview continues:
Q: There's so many different bands with Christians in them, and there are some God calls to preach on stage, and there are others who aren't...everyone is reached...youth groups...and then the population who won't listen to preaching.
A: I think, first and foremost, you have to be able to backup everything you say. But at a club, I don't think it's appropriate to preach. There's never been a point where you can look around you and see that most people have heard the Gospel and don't want to hear it anymore. http://www.decapolis.com/musicreviews/interviews/project86.shtmll
Whenever Jesus went among the ungodly he boldly preached the way to salvation. He was in the world but was not of the world. John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Here we are told that we should come out of the world. If the band Project 86 would come out on stage before a secular crowd and begin to preach Jesus Christ what do you think would happen? The only way to justify traveling with the world it to preach Jesus Christ and to convict and denounce the world. I'm sure if this were to be done that their career would come to a halt after the first show.
The four albums put out do not contain one mention of Jesus or God. How can this band help save people if they make no mention of salvation through Jesus Christ? If you read there lyrics you will have no clue that they are a "Christian band"
Out of 53 songs on 4 of their albums, only one mentioned God. It was not in the context of the God of the Bible, and not one single mention of Jesus who they are supposed to be like (Christian means Christ like). The one song that mentions God is in their first album.
Here are some pictures of the band Project 86:
Take notice the painted face, Does this look Christian? Does this face remind you of the sacrifice that Jesus paid of you? Is this the face of a person who you would let your children with? Jesus said that we should bring the children unto him. Would you want your children to learn from this man?
Take notice to the rebellious long hair and the Tattoos
Here is the mosh pit or is it the fondle pit?

These pictures are pictures of Tee-Shirts you can purchase from their web-site. The first thing that would go through my mind if I had seen someone wearing one of these t-shirts would be, "Hey, look a Christian". The Satan like images along with the association of death is a dead give away. Almost all rock and roll bands glorify death. Some hard core rockers will try to argue the fact that death represents our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. However, my God is not dead. He is alive forever more and is at the right hand of God the Father. I glorify life not death. The word tell us that death is an enemy, not something that should be displayed on your chest in defiance.
1Corinthians 15:26 The last
enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
